- Who is eligible to enroll?
All K-12 students in Washington State between ages five and twenty-one. - What is the cost to enroll in CVA?
CVA is an Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) public school program with no cost to enroll. All instructional materials, Community-Based Instructors (CBIs), and activities that support each approved Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP) are provided free of charge. Yes. Part-time arrangements take several forms depending on whether the other "part" involves independent home-based, private, or public education. Please contact a CVA enrollment advisor if you would like to pursue part-time enrollment. See the enrollment instructions here. - What are CVA’s four basic requirements?
The four basic requirements are: a Written Student Learning Plan (WSLP); Weekly Contact between student and CVA teacher; a Monthly Review, and Annual Assessment. (more information) - If my child has special learning needs or has had an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in the past, can he or she enroll in CVA?
Yes, CVA will work with families to ensure that the student’s learning needs are met. Additionally, our Special Services Director will work with the parent or guardian and CVA teacher to make referrals on curriculum choices.
