******* PRESS RELEASE ******
Inchelium, Wash. – Ron L. Washington Superintendent of Inchelium School District launched Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA) in Inchelium on January 31st. Mark Selle, co-founder of CVA, and Superintendent of the Valley School District stated, ” With great excitement for our future, we welcome the Inchelium School District into the Columbia Virtual Academy.” The Inchelium School District joins a growing number of public schools in Washington opting to offer family choice education to home-schooling families and others interested in highly personalized and flexible learning options.
As a public program, CVA is free to any K-12 student in the state.
Columbia Virtual Academy meets diverse family learning needs. A parent or student with parental guidance can take more or less control of the curriculum through various learning options including online courses or more traditional book learning. CVA’s intent is to listen to a family’s personalized learning needs and to design a program to match them.
“Effective immediately, home-schooling and other interested students may enroll in CVA through the Inchelium School District,” said Mark Selle, who co-founded CVA nearly four years ago with home-schooling mom Lori Larsen.
Families may learn more by visiting the website at www.ColumbiaVirtualAcademy.org, calling Lori toll free at 866-543-2682, or emailing llarsen@columbiavirtualacademy.org.

“I wish we had this when my kids were growing up. It’s not a way of skipping school. Rather, it supports the choice of very committed parents. Sometimes the easy solution just doesn’t feel right. The road less traveled may be better.”
