VALLEY, Wash. – The Valley School District has expanded the learning options for home school families. Today the “Valley HOME Program” was merged with the Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA). Merging the services of the HOME Program with the online extended learning services of CVA will benefit all home-school families. The uniting of these two programs “just makes sense” stated Mark Selle, Superintendent of the Valley School District.
CVA is a partnership of school districts that offers individualized home schooling education to any Washington student at no cost to the student’s family. CVA is a partnership of school districts based on a program established to connect home-schoolers with public school resources.
"We have found that both programs serve primarily families who choose home-schooling, so a merger of the online services for which CVA was originally founded with the services provided by the HOME Program is only natural." Selle said.
CVA serves online learners, and home-schooling families who prefer more traditional book learning. CVA provides all types of learning desired by home schooling families including digital or online learning.
Current CVA member school districts include Colville, Curlew, Orient, and Valley school districts. Any school or School district may join CVA in order to more effectively serve home schooling families across Washington.

“I wish we had this when my kids were growing up. It’s not a way of skipping school. Rather, it supports the choice of very committed parents. Sometimes the easy solution just doesn’t feel right. The road less traveled may be better.”
